From the Higher Education Special Interest Group (SIG), a WhatsApp-based community of IIEST Shibpur students, faculty, and alumni, and part of GAABESU’s Networking Program, we are pleased to present a list of our alumni who are embarking on their graduate studies at various fine institutions in India, Europe, and the USA this Autumn/Fall 2024. The primary objective of this SIG is to support our current students and recent alumni in their aspirations for higher education, offering them the guidance and the resources they need after completing their degrees at Shibpur by leveraging our network of accomplished alumni worldwide.
Objectives of the Article
1. Connecting Alumni with Local Support Networks
One of our primary goals is to connect these alumni with local alumni networks to help them acclimatize to their new environments. Moving to a new country or city can be a daunting experience, and having a familiar support network can make a significant difference. These connections not only provide emotional and social support but also practical advice on living in a new place.
2. Guidance for Internships and Job Opportunities
Leveraging these alumni networks, we aim to provide guidance for securing internships and full-time job opportunities. Alumni who have already navigated the challenges of finding employment in these new regions can offer valuable insights and advice, increasing the chances of success for recent graduates.
Inviting Engagement and Collaboration
We encourage all current IIEST students and recent alumni who are interested in pursuing higher studies to reach out to these individuals. Their experiences and knowledge can provide invaluable guidance in applying to and succeeding at prestigious institutions worldwide. This collaborative spirit is at the heart of our SIG, fostering a community that uplifts and supports each other.

Recent Activities and Future Plans
Our SIG, in collaboration with GAABESU, has been actively organizing events and sessions to support our community.
