Dear Sir,

I, Animesh Mandal, was a student of IIEST, Shibpur, from the 2015 pass-out batch, and my registration number is 235513016. Sir my 4 months old daughter ANSHIKA MANDAL (DOB- 25/11/2024) diagnosed with a very serious form of rare disease called SPINAL MUSCULAR ATROPHY (SMA) Type-1 is a progressive, rare genetic disease that affects the motor nerve cells in the spinal cord and impacts the muscles used for breathing, eating, crawling, and walking. Now her Health condition deteriorate day by day which needs an immediate medical attention.

There is a hope to save my daughter, her better future lies in a groundbreaking gene therapy treatment called Zolgensma® (onasemnogene abeparvovec) engineered by Novartis. and this the only SMA treatment designed to directly address the genetic root cause of the disease by replacing the function of the missing or non-working SMN1 gene to halt disease progression through sustained SMN protein expression with a single, one-time IV infusion.

However, the cost of this life saving gene therapy is tremendously high approximately 2 million dollars. In India some hospitals registered under the Zolgensma Early Access Request Program, the treatment would be provided by Novartis around 1 million US dollars i.e. approximately INR 9 Crore. That amount is far beyond what our family can afford.

I am reaching out with a heartfelt plea for support to save our baby Anshika. Please donate and share this widely.

My daughter has 14th months' time, within this time gene therapy has to be given.
