Our Oldest Alumnus, Centenarian Mihir Chatterjee Passes Away!

It is with a very heavy heart that we inform everyone of the passing away of our beloved Mihir da (Mihir Kumar Chatterjee - 1945 CE). The former Chief Engineer of PWD breathed his last at 2:45 PM yesterday, the 6th of December 2021, at the  Calcutta Heart Clinic and Hospital, at the age of 100 years and 6 months.

Mihir da will remain forever in our memories and will be remembered with warmth and fondness.
​​​​​​​In July 2020, GAABESU had conveyed a small birthday wish to him, at his residence, to celebrate the completion of 99 years for this inspirational personality. More details of that special day can be found in the article below. 

And during GAABESU's 2nd E-Reunion, held on 15th of August, 2021, we had featured a small video of Mihir da sharing his experience in our campus almost eight decades back. This video can be viewed below. 

We are deeply saddened by this devastating news and on behalf of the entire alumni community, we offer our sincere condolences to his family, friends and admirers.
