GAABESU
Bengal Engineering College Alumni Scholarship programme was started in 1998 by four alumni with a starting donation of $1,000 each. The purpose of the programme was to provide financial support to needy but meritorious students pursuing undergraduate studies at B. E. College. The founding committe members from the US were:

Scholarship distribution started in academic year 1999 with 9 scholarships.
BECAA Maharashtra joined the Alumni Scholarship programme in 2004-05.
Alumni Associations of 3 Middle East countries OMAN, U.A.E. & KUWAIT joined the same in 2005-06
New Global Alumni Association or GAABESU was formed in 2005. GAABESU created a Scholarship Subcommittee in March 2006 which took over the management function of the programme starting academic year 2006-07.
Rajdeep Dutta 88EE became the global coordinator for GAABESU scholarship in 2006.
The program has grown significantly since 1998 with the help of generous donors, GAABESU Scholarship Sub-Committe, IIEST Administration, Faculty, and Students.
More than 600 alumni and well-wishers have donated to the scholarship programme during 1998-2020.
Since inception, the programme has distributed scholarships to 1400 IIEST students amounting to INR 1.5 Crores!
Today it is one of most successful college scholarship programmes in India.
